Ooh, Time Team's in Cornwall. I thought our local unit wouldn't let them across the border any more after the last time *sporfles*

It's been so long since I've bothered to watch this. Talking of weird crushes - Phil Harding anyone? No? Just me then... *hides*

ETA: "What's going on here - is it industry, is it commerce, is it an early Rick Stein fish restaurant?"

God I miss living on the North coast. It's so damn pretty. In case anyone else is watching, the beaches on the other side of the river from where they are, are the ones I grew up on, up to ten years old *goes all misty eyed*

*must not slash Mick and Tony, must not slash Mick and Tony, must not slash Mick and Tony*

... What did they do last time? Did Tony Robinson eat a pasty upside down?

they've been about three times before, but they never release any of the finds to the local unit, or make any of the findings available for years and years (in fact, as far as I know, they still haven't released the finds from the first time they came, in the *first* series). Eventually the head archaeologist threw a strop and wouldn't let them come back LOL

Can you hear the hysterical laughter from London? Weird? Border-line deranged. Is Benny still in Time team?

Haven't watched Time Team in ages. Not sure if it was the North coast I went to last year - I went to Newquay - I absolutely loved it there.

[identity profile] suzie-shooter.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, Newquay's north coast - bit further west.

Ooh, I haven't watched Time Team in a very, very long time. Do they still build a lot of trenches?

I don't know who Phil Harding is, but I have a crush on Tony Robinson's voice, which is kinda weird ^^;;

very much trench-based, yes, LOL.

Time Team reply

I Can't let Suzies comments go unanswered I'm afraid. I'm a member of staff at Time Team and I'm afraid you are just plain wrong. Time Team has been running for fifteen years. In the early years both the archaeologists and television staff were finding their feet making television archaeology accessible to a non-specialist public. As a result some of the sites from these early years faced some problems in terms of post excavation work. In more recent times Wessex Archaeology have conducted all on site recording and excavation and all post excavation work. All Time Team sites are professionally recorded and written up with reports being submitted to local SMRs and archaeological authorities within twelve months of completion of works. All outstanding reports from the 160 odd sites we have excavated are complete with a handful of exceptions, which are currently being completed. All finds are, as a matter of course, deposited at local museums. Suzies assertion that Cornwall archaeological authorities wouldn't want us to return are surprising considering that English Heritage and Cornwall County Council have invited us to the region and worked closely with us on a number of nationally significant sites over the last decade or so.

Would you like to employ me to check teh spelling na dgrammar of those who claim to speak in your name? I'd be very good, and qute cheap. Pay me a small living wage and a couple of days off accompad by free passes to watch the recording of programmes of my choice and I'd be happy.
