Tremendous. There is a new department moving into the ground floor of our building, and there is currently the biggest removal lorry I have ever seen outside. It's got two wheels up on the pavement, so is at a slight angle, and the men are carrying the furniture out down a ramp that appears to be made of soggy hinged plywood. This is resting on a thin and apparently unattached metal bracket, which is in turn braced on a bit of wood on the pavement, and some sort of plastic covered package in the road. At different heights. And the bit of wood appears to have nails sticking up out of it.

*drinks tea, watches from top floor with interest*

Oh god. I'm having visions of Brian Coat turning up with a clipboard and saying "There was NO need for that to happen"

*is hoping you remember Brian Coat*

Funny you should post this, I've been formulating a health and safety rant of my own today, which will be going up shortly....

It's probably quite sad that I did, but I'm a bit of a Newman/Baddiel devotee.

For those who can't be arsed to Google:

Safety First:
"A short sketch in the form of a TV safety warning presented by a character named Brian Coat, played by Baddiel. Brian Coat was a humourless and over-zealous safety officer, in hard hat, who caused the accidents he was trying to prevent. He would willingly set up an accident, then state "Y'see, there was no need for that to happen!" before walking away from the scene completely unapologetically."

Never as funny as History Today, though.

"That's you, that is"

*grins stupidly*

I've added a picture. Because they've foolishly left me alone in the office with a camera.
