Soyes. Saturday afternoon went down into Falmouth to peruse the Oyster Festival - to discover a certain three men lurking in the crowd. No, not those three....these three:
Rory and, er, friend...

Dara was gripping Griff by the scruff of the neck at this point...

They were having an oyster-shucking race. I said shucking...

Griff is tiny. I think I could have picked him up.

Assuming the position...

I think the random man in the middle was telling them how to do it

Sweeeeeeeet!

(Ros, I would have sent you a flaily text, but I don't have your number....)
Anyway, after that we went into the big tent and listened to a New Orleans-stylee jazz band, and I had my first oyster! It was okay - better than I was expecting, but nothing that made me go "oh my god I must eat more". After that, we went to the newly opened noodle bar for, er, noodles, and then had an unexpected!cocktail on the way to the pub, because we passed a bar that was completely empty and we felt sorry for the barman. Who apologised that they seemed to have run out of passionfruit when I ordered a passionfruit daquiri, and the whole lot of us proceeded to point to the enormous jug of them on the bar... We finished up in the Tap Room for whiskies. Pretty good day's work that. And no hangover - result!
