Her out of the airship one. Charlie?

SJA

14. Is there any particular episode/book/audio/comic you desperately want to watch/listen to/read?

Now that's a blast from past, and no mistake - we have some tapes inna cupboard but I'm not sure what we have to play them on any more. Brilliantly surreal and hilarious and terrifying by turns, as I recall, and I don't even work in the medical field - I wonder if [livejournal.com profile] halotolerant has even seen this series?

It was ace! I think I've actually got the book of the first series somewhere. And I remember loving the theme tune, but can't remember for the life of me how it went!

...I wonder if you can get it on dvd?

£50 second hand on Amazon or eBay - don't bid against me, please ;-)

And it's out of print, so the MIB's ethical standards might be subvertible!

There are some clips on Youtube - here are the credits with theme tune and a nun playing hopscotch

And I can quote Wikipedia too - I really am a nerd!

The theme tune, We Love You was performed by UK singer, Elkie Brooks.

Ace! Thank you! I vaguely remember the nuns LOL. Didn't they keep appearing in the background or something?

And the other much under appreciated series, which has nothing in common with AVPP really except a vaguely similar theme tune in my head, and being excellent in a rather less insane way, was "Star Cops", which we do own - does that ring any bells?

No I ain't seen it - does it involve doctors being, well, doctors? *g* I've had a lot of weird consultant clinics recently (things I did not expect to discuss in general surgery outpatients (1) the sex life of Oscar Wilde (2) how you spell the surname of the person who wrote Catch-22)

Incidentally, I loved the All Creatures Great and Small books *g*

Doctors in a university practice. Peter Davison, Graham Crowden, David Troughton (I think) and - can't remember who the woman was...

Sounds interesting. I still like medical dramas (I used to seriously love them) but I can't relax with them any more. House, for example, I actually find quite stressful to watch now! I'm more fond of comedy and/or old-fashioned medical settings now - Scrubs, for example. Was this series fairly light?

Thank you! I look forward to these - I tried one at random (the 'I'm a doctor' one) and certainly laughed (and 'you're not one of those strippergrams, are you?' yayz for teh vaguely innappropriate slash! *iz easy to please*)

*wishes her forthcoming job rotations for selection included a 'timelord doctor' option*

does it involve doctors being, well, doctors?
Not very much. Mostly they went around being something somewhere between back-stabbing business-men to out-and-out psychiatric cases. It was about an extremely dysfunctional group of humans in the dangerous position of being allowed to masquerade as medical professionals - which unfortunately does have some basis in reality.

I've never seen Old Who (apart from what I've read about in my Aunt's old Blue Peter annuals) - perhaps I should give it a go?

I saw a couple of episodes of SJA on the plane back from the USA this summer & I thought it was vastly better than Torchwood.
